Bad week so far

The world lost a great man at 1:30 AM Monday morning. I remember meeting Glen Engelke when I was eight years old. At the time, to a little kid, he seemed like a wily old crazy trucker. He was; but he was also a great guy, loyal to his friends almost to a fault and one of the few people I ever knew that could absolutely put a smile on anyone's face no matter how down they were. He took the time to take a crazy kid golfing whenever I wanted to go and was always available to just meet up and talk about whatever with whoever. I had lunch with Glen and couple of other friends a couple of weeks ago before he became confined to bed and he looked me in the eye, shook my hand and thanked me for being his friend. Glen realized he didnt have long and was more concerned about letting his friends know how much he appreciated them than having anyone's pity. The funeral was yesterday so I haven't felt much like blogging this week.
