Well, Thanksgiving went off well. Many upcoming trips to the gym to burn off all the calories. Anyway, went to the ranch on Thursday and stayed there until Saturday. I don't want to talk about either football game. The first being the debacle that was the UT game. Colt McCoy's got no heart and we are right back to where we were in the pre-VY days. As of yesterday we lost our defensive coordinator, so Mack has got some work to do. The other game was our chance at redemption when Oklahoma State should've beat Oklahoma had OK. State's QB not tried to do some crazy pirouette into the end zone. That's all I have to say about that.
Saturday, after getting back in town, the decision is made to go downtown and have a few drinks. We meet up with about ten guys and girls at Cuba Libre and have a few mojitos. After leaving we head over to Foundation for a couple of spirits and the close the night at Uncle Flirtys. Good, low key, low profile evening. Sorry for not having some pics.
OK...now for the Saturday night antics. I decide rather than parking and walking down to Cuba (about a block and a half from my apt) that Ill just go ahead and take the car down there since I had to go pick up Ang anyway. I roll up to Cuba to valet the car and the valet goes "I guess u want me to park it on the curb (at that time there is a Ferrari and an Aston Martin already there). I tell him to put it where he has room for it as long as it doesn't get hurt. He says "well it will look good up here parked by these two so I will leave it up here it will be safer that way". That'll be forty dollars sir..."HOW MUCH???". After much discussion with him I am too embarrassed with everyone standing around looking at the car to just get in and leave. I begrudgingly hand over the money. I just paid $40 to keep from walking a block and a half...never again.
We go out and have a good time. Well about 2:15 we get our traditional slice of pizza there on the curb and are going to take the car home and eat our pizza and go to bed. NOT SO. I get in the car there on the curb just in time for this little Mercedes coupe to pull right up in front of me preventing me from getting out. I am content to sit in the car and eat the pizza until he moves. Ang will have none of it. She gets out of the car and knocks on the guys window. This guy is WASTED. He finally opens the door and she asks him to move. His response "just hit the car". Ang's quick witted response "we aren't worried about your piece of shit, we're worried about the car that costs three times as much as yours that's behind you". He takes offense to this and just closes the door and sits there. I realize what is happening at this point so I open my door and start to get out to go up and "encourage" the guy to move his car. I was actually thinking more along the lines of open the door pull the guy out of the car, get in the car and move it myself, after he shut the door in my girlfriend's face. She hits the window and asks the guy to move again. He gets out of the car and is like "who wants it moved". She points at me, i'm halfway out of the car right now so I sit back down with the door open when I see his door open. He starts rolling back to me. He's drunk and he's pissed. This guy wants to fight. This guy is about 5'7" and weighs about 155. You can tell he has never so much as looked at a gym in life. He rolls back there all macho and then sees me. All the sudden the scowl on his face went quickly from an "i'm going to kick his ass look" to a "holy shit, this guy will kill me look" to a "I better make friends with this large man so he doesn't break me in two" look. He proceeds to start showing me half naked pictures of his girlfriend and how she's in New Jersey right now and how he is in the entertainment industry and him and I should hang out, just a bunch of random stuff, I guess to keep me from getting mad at him. I say "just move your car and we'll be fine" and give him the go to hell look that a few of you have seen. He gets in his car, pulls to the middle of the street and the two girls who are with him decide they want pizza. They fling open the doors in the middle of Colorado Street and just leave the doors wide open and walk away from the car. These are the kind of folks that are driving downtown at 2:30 AM.
Must win softball game tomorrow night that will put us in a three way tie for first place in the league. Let you know.
Fiji odds are improving dramatically. This trip could actually happen and happen very soon if it does.
