My God...It's So Liberating
I deleted my myspace this morning. I always said that nobody should have a myspace past 30...well I couldnt even make it to 29 without getting bored with it. It's history. Still on facebook only because I cant completely cut myself off from both since thats the only way some folks can get ahold of me.

Man...I'm Going Crazy
Someone from my top friends deleted their profile this morning. It drove me crazy for about an hour until I finally realized who it was. Full on panic mode. Anyway, onto other things.
Headed to NYC for a long weekend this weekend. That should be a good time. Suppossed to be in the 20's on Friday up there.
Turkey day was good, I spent some time at the ranch and watched as UT got screwed by a bunch of computers that somehow know more about football than sportswriters and coaches who remember that UT freaking beat OU and Missouri. Anyway, GO TIGERS!!!! Also, in this regard, I really apologize to A&M fans about what Fran did to your program. Yall are really bad, and I dont mean that in an insulting way, yall just have no talent. Good luck with that.
With all that said, I'm attempting to post pics this afternoon...maybe.

Bad week so far
The world lost a great man at 1:30 AM Monday morning. I remember meeting Glen Engelke when I was eight years old. At the time, to a little kid, he seemed like a wily old crazy trucker. He was; but he was also a great guy, loyal to his friends almost to a fault and one of the few people I ever knew that could absolutely put a smile on anyone's face no matter how down they were. He took the time to take a crazy kid golfing whenever I wanted to go and was always available to just meet up and talk about whatever with whoever. I had lunch with Glen and couple of other friends a couple of weeks ago before he became confined to bed and he looked me in the eye, shook my hand and thanked me for being his friend. Glen realized he didnt have long and was more concerned about letting his friends know how much he appreciated them than having anyone's pity. The funeral was yesterday so I haven't felt much like blogging this week.

Game Time
The boat is headed east. Last check it was in Pensacola, Florida. Flying down to meet it in the morning. In Key West till next Monday with an insane group of people. Assure you I'll have pics and stories for the blog.
UT lost last weekend. Sucks.
Halloween last weekend, didnt do anything. Went to the movies with Brent since Angela was out of town. Home asleep by ten. It was awesome.
Room is full of sounds of Chris mounting his soap box
Electing a new President today. Next four years is gonna be interesting. Unfortunately I dont think in a good way. CHARISMA does not equate to being a good leader. Simply proves once again that life is one big popularity contest. Not even Presidents get elected on their merits. If you're "hip" and can point out what's wrong with America and most of all can move people with your speaches and convince them to follow you, you got what it takes apparently. Dont bother with proposing solutions. Let me first say I'm for McCain. I think Obama may be able to use his ability to motivate people to do some great things, however history is full of people who have used this ability with huge negative consequences (Hitler...great motivator, David Koresh...great motivator; now dont everyone get upset, these were two incredibly misguided individuals who used their gifts negatively, their are examples such as MLK and others who used their abilities in amazing and beautfiul manners). Hopefully history doesnt repeat itself. I, for one, think socialism should be left in places like Cuba and China. Call it what you will, "spreading the wealth around" is socialism.

Sorry for the delay
So its been a couple of weeks since a post. Havent really had anything exciting happen to post other than UT playing really well. Been to the last couple of games. Sat with the bank in their suite at the most recent win over Oklahoma State last Saturday. Thats the way to go to a football game. Preparing to leave town next week for a few days of relaxation in The Florida Keys. I have been taking some pictures but unfortunately none of them have been worthwhile. Been pretty slow in Austin with summer winding down and hunting season not started yet. I have to decide if their enough excitement in my life these days to be worthy of blog post. Trying to keep this fresh and not be like "blah blah blah, we got drunk, blah blah blah, we were so wasted".
Halloween this weekend, gonna lay low and head to the ranch probably on Friday night and then come back Saturday and have a small group over for dinner and game-watching on Saturday night.

Weekend coming up
I apologize for my immediate post before this one, it was kind of whiny. I took care of that shit, just dropped the class. So no more classes for this semester. Life has been good since then. Got the motor work complete on my boat. Sea trialed it yesterday. Full of fuel and gear, two guys in the boat with not being completely tuned and a minimal amount of trim...107mph. 110 is coming, cruise all day at 100 now though which is good.
OU this weekend, headed up tomorrow morning. Should be a good game if UT shows up.
Ryan, I didnt know you wanted to buy the ski boat when I sold it. My bad. I told you guys the LBJ guys would be upset.

I am wise...
Advice...dont make the same mistake I made. Getting a master's degree while working full time is a terrible idea. In case you cant tell, Im working on a project right now and I really dont like it. I swear I'm a glutton for punishment, I hated school during the first college degree. So, lets do it again; Great Idea Chris!!!
Its Coming....110+ mph
So the hot road boat is currently undergoing some "small" engine modifications looking for about 120 more horsepower a side. Thatll take me up to around1600 horsepower total. Hoping for about 10 more mph which should put me cruising along at 100 with a top speed up over 110. Getting closer to where we want to be (dont really know where we want to be yet, just faster). I guess, I'll have to go to a catamaran to go much faster than we already are as the fastest non raceboat v-hulls are running only 130-140. Thinking it may take 150+ to get where we "need to be". (already got my plane tickets booked for the Miami boat show in February).
On another boat note, I know this will make all the LBJ guys sad, I parted ways with the wakeboard boat earlier this month. I had only used it about four times in the past two years and just was having to make myself use it to justify having it. Found an oppurtunity to sell it and jumped on it. Haven't missed it at all at this point. Other than I have a mountain of wakeboard stuff that I dont need anymore. Let me know if you guys are looking for anything in particular.
Oklahoma this weekend. Yet again, we go in as a top five team and will probably get our ass kicked. We can always hope though. UT has looked good the past few weekends.
Hit up the big in the water end of season boat show on Travis on Friday night for their VIP party. Got as drunk as we could till we ran out of money paying five dollars a drink. Never thought "VIP" would mean cash bar and free chips and queso, the band was good though.
Checked out the new downtown restaraunt Maria Maria Cantina at a pre grand opening deal over the weekend. This was more of a VIP deal with free drinks and food all night long. Apparently Carlos Santana is a partner in the joint. Unfortunately didnt see him there. Food was decent, drinks were pretty good. I'll go back.
Here are a few pics I could scrounge up of stuff lately that I have been promising pictures of...

Well...I got pics I just cant get them to work for some reason
I have lots of pictures from the poker run two weeks ago to show you guys. Best Lake Travis poker run in quite a while. I'll get them working. What else is new, little Fonty and I met for the first time yesterday when he was actually awake. I bought Ang a new Porsche Cayenne last week. Ill post some pics of it in the next day or two. Starting to get the boat ready for Key West. Getting really hyped about this. Other than that, its been pretty boring and slow. OU next weekend which should be fun. Hopefully UT can at least make a good showing. Kristina is back in Austin for a visit from Connecticut so we're all looking forward to seeing her. ACL was last weekend...stayed the heck away from that. Went to a wedding that was by far the most laid back wedding I have EVER been to. So laid back it didnt even really feel like a wedding.

Ike has passed...and so have some other things.
So the football game got cancelled this weekend due to the weather and Austin did not get a drop of rain. Oh well. Went out Friday night and ended up just really pissed off at a bunch of people by the end of the night. Im taking a break from all that bullshit for a while. Ive been hearing from a bunch of different people lately that everyone in Austin has been really testy with everyone else it seems. Maybe we are all getting worn out from summer and the heat or something. Either way, its about time for hunting season to start and I've got several events in the upcoming weekends, so downtown Austin and that crowd will have to survive without me. I've made some great friends having this downtown run. Wouldnt trade some of the experiences for the world. But, its time to grow up. I dont want to be one of those people who sits down at 30+ years old and says "am i really still doing this?". If its your thing, then by all means have at it. But its not for me at this point in my life.
On a happier note, Hayden Fontenot was born on Wednesday at 5:04 PM. Mother and baby are home and doing great. Congrats again to the Fontenots. I must say that this is the first time I have ever actually been at the hospital when a child was born (I've always came to see them after) and it was awesome and moving.

Fontenot is starting his army
So Chris and Ashley are in the hostpital as I type having their first child. Good luck to them. We didnt do much last weekend. Watched the UT game with a group of people and watched Rashad Evans put Chuck Liddel to sleep. Did a bunch of work around the house. All the stuff around the house is finally getting close to completion. Short of putting in a pool, which I am going to wait till the winter to do, I am almost done. This weekend, just the football game, and thats about it at this point.

Just some random stuff
Nothing notable from the weekend thats worth putting on the blog...high drama but I would rather not talk about it because its already been talked to death. Didnt involve me I was just a witness to all of it. Anyway, this is going to be more of a humorous post. I got two things to talk about. First, I got an email from a friend in Dallas. She just randomly sends me the link www.fartcake.com. I must warn you, this video is weird as hell and slightly pornographic in a weird REALLY twisted way. But, for those who dare to take the plunge, this video will leave you saying "who the hell thinks of this?". Make sure you have the sound on. The second thing is an article I just read about a running back in the NFL who just stole another running backs luggage from the locker room. After being caught on the very conspicuous video cameras, the guy had a girl return the bags empty the next day. So this guy, gets cut, steals some stuff, gets caught, gets called out, and simply returns half the stuff, and doesnt even have the guts to stand up and face the music. And we all wonder why football players have a bad image.

Destin Pics
Alright, so for everyone who has been waiting on the pics...they're below. Great moments of this story. Getting drunk, sleeping in, and running to the boat to get the run started, the whole time Angela is puking from the night before. Becca puking at a poker run stop with everyone watching, Becca peeing off the back of the boat right as the video helicopter flies over the horizon. Eating whataburger all day every day. Walking through the lobby in my underwear after a few beverages because Chuck disappeared. Victoria wearing nothing but sea shells at one poker run stop (completely unannounced). Chuck attempting to tell how our truck has a bed in the back seat and getting looked at like he was retarded. Chuck and I going Miami Vice in the open ocean.
Key west flights are booked for the poker run in November. Should be another good one. Labor day this weekend, football game tomorrow and probably just laying low a little bit. Ill keep a camera with me just in case. Got a new Denali a couple of days ago. Nice having a new rig. Now I just gotta do the stereo and all that stuff.
About to leave the ATX

I actually have nothing to say
So...ive got no great stories from the weekend. Pretty normal weekend. Went out Thursday night for a few drinks. Stayed in Friday preparing for a baby shower Ang was hosting at our new place on Saturday. Woke up Saturday and couldnt get motivated to go to the lake. End up getting drunk at Maudies and deciding to pull the boat out. Break the boat putting it on the trailer. Should be fixed next Monday. Just in time for the big Destin poker run. Went out Saturday and got a little tipsy (i.e. pretty ripped up). Afterpartied at the Plaza penthouse. Home to bed, chilled at the casa all day Sunday. Dang, Im bored. I swear Im making up for it this week. Destin poker run coming up. Should be great.

New Camera Works Well
So the new camera takes good pics as youll see in a minute, but first I have to get on my soapbox for a second. Guys, if you're a marginal employee, you cannot give your employer a reason to fire you. Let me tell you about someone who didnt heed this advice. Angela has a friend who considers herself an animal lover. That's good, I can get down with liking fido and garfield. What I cannot get down with is picking up wounded animals on the side of the road. Apparently this girl can. She can also take them to the vet, diverting her work plans. After the cat dies at the vet, the girl cannot afford to pay the vet to dispose of the cat. All this is weird but not over the top. Here's where it goes off the deep end. Normal folks would say its unfortunate and put the cat in a trash can or an abandoned field. Not this young lady. This girl puts the cat in a box, drives to work, TAKES A DEAD CAT into the office (smart enough not to leave it in her car in 100 degree heat), and plans to bury it after work. This was all well and good until managment found out. Termination ensued and we all learned a valuable lesson. DONT TAKE DEAD ROADKILL TO YOUR OFFICE.

Alright, onto to some random pictures from last weeks poker run. Im gonna follow those with some random pics from Devil's Cove this weekend. I dont have very many of this past weekend with the new camera because George hijacked my camera and I didnt see it for the rest of the day. I supposedly have some more being emailed to me from other cameras. Ill post them when I get them.

AC Rules
Dude...so hot in the office today. AC in the building went out this morning. Horrible. Got lots of pics to post from the poker run this weekend. However, my backup camera sucks (my primary took a swim in a cup of Bacardi and Diet Coke). So, im waiting on pics to get emailed to me. Dont fret, I'm going to buy a new camera right now because its too damn hot in this office to work anymore.

I'm A Homeowner
I am no longer a renter, well I'm a renter and an owner now. Ang and I closed on our house today. So moving has been going all day. Im sure it will progress slowly over the next few weeks. So when yall are all around give me a call and come check it out. I'm now one of those weird folks that live in south Austin.
Sharp Enough To Shave With
So I've warned and warned people that the props on the new boat are sharp. Like razor sharp people. Unfortunately sometimes warning doesnt work. Our dear friend Kristina learned the hard way a few weeks ago after sliding off the platform to take a dip in the lake. Her leg brushed up against prop and eleven stitches later and a trip to the ER, everyone realized they are sharp.

ROT RALLY
Ok, so I really want to post a bunch of pics here but I cant because I havent determined if this blog allows nudity yet. Im checking that because I've got some pretty intense pics from the weekend. Long story short, we had a heckuva setup out there and ripped it up. I would like to post the pics but the party ended with me being on the phone with my attorney the week after being concerned with having to answer some tough questions when the intensity of the party was leaked to the media and authorities got involved.
